NPC will not respond to you with your "hail" if your invis.
Depends on the NPC. Translocators sure do.

On live, taking any damage would break invis. The traps you find in dungeons where there mostly to make sneaking around invis harder, on here I have not noticed the traps breaking invis or sneak/hide. Not sure if fall damage would break invis on live but it does not break it here.

How does using invis to complete quests work? As an agnostic ogre trying to raise faction, is this useful at all?

You cannot use invis as a way to modify your faction to complete quests...at least not without using some exploit or something. If you were to invis and try to hail the mob he will not answer you. If you try to hand in your items, your invis would break.

I think it used to be on live you could put the item in the person's trade window, then go invis, then hit the 'give' button to do the quest at indifferent faction

They will if they see invis. If that NPC in particular has the ability to innately see invis he will respond to your hail.

That is something I would consider an exploit...

Hardly is this an exploit. Someone with sneak does the exact same thing. This is just utilizing a friend. Do you consider Multi-Questing an exploit also???

didn't you need invis to do the red wine quest in Neriak, if your faction was low enough? That might have just been getting to him, I just recall how annoying it was to find "safe spots" in neriak to stand and recast, especially on a Zek server.

Okay this is what I remember, but obviously this doesn't work if you're KoS. In that case, I'll probably have to donate for wolf form. Probably easier anyway.
