Thanks! Was trying to mess with the effect of having the back all blurry.

Those are cards, not smokes btw. Lol ~
Hah. I see that picture for real at least two dozen times a week, with one exception. They're a pack of smokes. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Messing around with the new lens.
I do like this photo but I'm torn on the liquid on the glass both inside and out... the sweat on the outside gives it very natural look but leaves it shining at weird angles. You got a VERY narrow DoF on that... what is it, a 1.8, 1.4?

Taken with a 50 mm - F/1.8 lens that I haven't played around with much yet.

This isn't a bad photo but I feel that you went a little bit too shallow with your depth of field. I like the idea of leaving the back or front portion of the artichoke blurred, but you caught more of a diagonal stripe down the middle. Move the artichoke more to the right a little and try to get some sun/shadows going on.. I never realized how cool artichokes looked!

What are you shooting with? (also clean your lens)

Ahh. The second one is my favorite. Now, just pan back to show a steaming mug of coffee sitting on a table in the foreground, and it would be pure bliss.
