*** Updated 9/12/11 ***

Porgat was excited to get started on his goal to reach the level of 6th training today. He may have been a little to over zealous to begin with. After killing a few rats and tadpoles, he ventured north towards Guk's entrance to battle Frogloks. This resulted in a couple of deaths for poor Porgat. After a two long trips back from Feerrott to gather his belongings, Porgat humbly continued to slaughter rats and tadpoles till he reached a greater level in his trainings. Porgat was lucky to loot a cracked staff for which replaced his training sword originally given to him upon the start of his journey. After reaching the 3rd level of training, Porgat eagerly decided to test his abilities against the foes that defeated him previously in which he prevailed. Eat a cracked staff Froglok!

Along the journey Porgat met many friendly Norrathians that assisted him in his adventure to the 6th level of training. Porgat was glad for the support as it made his training proceed much quicker and safely. One fellow adventurer generously provided Porgat with a two handed rusty battle axe, his first gift. Porgat believed he could battle all the creatures of Norrath now with his newly obtained weapon. Porgat felt a warm sense of brotherhood with his new friend.

Some of these Norrathians were odd in appearance to Porgat, these strange friendly creatures were named; Tarhiel, Valere, and Lives. With their magical tricks, Porgat felt 10 times stronger and faster than before! There was one little peculiar creature named Tycri that made Porgat unbelievably powerful for a short time. With the speed at his feet and the thorns that covered his body, Porgat was rapidly upon his goal of reaching the 6th level. Oh my looks like there was a massacre!

The jungles of Innothule Swamp was a dangerous place indeed. Though Porgat was gaining strength and experience, he still found times where he must escape from harm. Thankfully in one of these dire instances, another fellow adventurer named Ideza came to his rescue. Porgat decided he would bide his time until he would revisit those Froglok guards with a little revenge. During Porgat's adventure there were some note worthy events, such as Porgat looting his very first bag. This was a welcomed find! Porgat made the journey to town quite often with his spoils of battle. These trips to Grobb were becoming quite lucrative for Porgat. He obtained his first platinum piece by selling his Cracked Staff! The staff served Porgat well, he was a little sad to part with it. Once Porgat reached his 5th level in his journey, he kept his promise. It was revenge time! Porgats back Frogloks!

Porgat finally reached his goal of the 6th level of training. Now that his time here in Innothule Swamp was coming to an end today, he knew he would have Froglok battles filling his dreams that night. Porgat has grown to despise Frogloks and has vowed to assist in thwarting their plans. Porgat felt in his heart that even though Norrath was a brutal world, he would prevail because of the Norrathians that fill it. Porgat made the journey home to Oggok.

Porgat knew he must gather supplies for the adventure ahead. Smashing Frogloks in Upper Guk is dangerous work, but some ogre has to do it.

Porgat made one last visit before he departed. This visit was to his mentor Guntrik. Porgat felt proud as he approached Guntrik to train new skills. He couldn't but help feel Oggok is a bit smaller since his last visit. Porgat's eyes have been opened.

*** Thanks to all who assisted Porgat with buffs and overall niceness. Also thank you to those who joined Porgat in Upper Guk to slay those nasty Frogloks! ***

To be continued ...

Edit: Thank you all for all the suggestions and feedback! Porgat will be venturing into Upper Guk soon! I have updated the adventure log to reflect these changes.

Well according to this:

http://wiki.project1999.org/index.ph...s_and_ZEM_List

Your only non Crushbone options are Kurns, Befallen, and apparently Upper Guk.

I don't know if there would be a negative faction hit to any of those.

You're already near Upper Guk and it's probably your best option anyways. Kurn's is nice but would definitely require a port and you'd have nowhere to train. You can get a bind in Grobb and use the warrior trainers there.

If I wasn't burnt out on P99 I'd roll a shaman to join you =\

Edited the story, you may want to reread it. Things have changed! I am glad you guys are enjoying the story. I hope this gives new people a sense of adventure and urge to give project 1999 a try. Some people that are rather new to MMOs think developer led quest is the only way it can work.

This game has so much to offer. If a new person gets anything from my journey, I hope it's that in project 1999 you make your own quest. It is all up to you!

The thing about being an evil race is that it's disadvantageous in the earlier levels but convenient later on. If you went to a zone like Blackburrow, you'd have to find a bind in Qeynos and then slay hundreds of gnolls to get enough faction to enter Qeynos and even then you might not be able to train, sell etc. At like 12-14ish you can do Unrest until Mistmoore, etc, but those zones are all near good hubs. It's better to stay near your hometown in the lower levels since you have more skills to train (parry, dual wield, etc all come early, but there isn't much to train later on so you can be a bit more independent).

However the higher end dungeons are right in your backyard. Upper Guk is right next to Grobb and Nagafen's Lair (SolB) is right by Neriak.

Thanks Mardur! I am a little nervous on how my first grouping experience will go with Porgat being in newbie gear. I have taken your advice and plan to venture into Upper Guk first. I will be on some time tonight LFG. Hopefully he will have a successful trip if he can get a group there. Time to punish some Frogloks!
