I've never played a necro, but I'm tempted to say Erudite necro. They've always appealed to me. But I've had a lot of fun playing my HIE Mage too, so it may be a toss-up.

Druid. Great class. Solo capable. Considerable need in the community for ports, binds, sow ($$$).

Cleric. Tough to decide between Dark Elf and Dwarf. I went with Dwarf on p1999 but I used to play a DE on live. I think I like Clerics so much because:

- Very exciting class to play at times. Also very laid back at other times. I usually describe it as long stretches of boredom followed by moments of sheer terror. Kind of like a soccer goalie.
- One of the easier classes to get groups with.
- Helping other people with rezzes/buffs. Allowing other healing classes to use their "fun" abilities.
- People tend to remember good clerics and want to remain in contact.
- Fits my laid back even keeled personality.

Really I've enjoyed every class I've played in EQ. Rangers and Bards would probably be my second choices.

Base stats are only "obsolete" as soon as you're raid equipped in Kunark.

Sheesh, I don't even remember hitting the 255 stam/wis mark as a paladin until I was covered in NTOV.

I played a bard for years and found it to be the most appealing class IMO. Chant Kiting, Swarm Kiting and actively twisting songs in a group situations made for a great experience. Unfortunately I'm relatively new to the server and only have 1 char ATM, trying to get to 50 before I make some twinks, at which point I'm definitely making a bard.

First choice is enchanter. We have the most control of any class in game and can go everywhere.

Second choice is Iksar necro. Since everyone already hates them I can pretty much kill with impunity (assuming quests are not a concern.)
