Hmm. Lots of Stephen King at the local book pile. They're all weather worn by now and in a few years will crumble in your hands. But since I usually stick to sci-fi and tolkien high fantasy I pretty much avoid everything else. But I've never read Stephen King... ever. Makes me feel hollow. Your post made me think that maybe I'm missing out on something good.

(oh my, i put hallow instead of hollow the first time and that's almost funny)

And, btw, someone I trust once told me Stephen is a murderer. It has always seemed warped to me that he'd say that. It kind of added a lot of mystery to Stephen King. Makes me wonder too... Maybe too much.

I tried reading it back in like 7th grade and never finished. I might pick it up again soon though, I've been looking for a good book.

I read up to the 5th book

Friends told me the series got worse, so I never did finish it.

I will say that the 4th book (Wizard and Glass?) was one of the best that I've ever read. Loved that one.

The fifth one just seemed so different. It never managed to hook me
yeah, the 4th is my favourite book.
im surprised you didnt like the 5th so much, i loved it!!
im currently deciding whether to read it through again or not....its so big part of me thinks i should wait a few more years

Maybe I need to give it a reread. Timing wasn't good with that one. I read the 4th one over the summer, then started the 5th one at the beginning of my first college semester at a dorm where dorm parties took precedence over book reading.

I don't remember a lot about the fifth one except that it felt really disconnected from the previous books. Like I went from this epic western/romance/action to some weird town in the middle of nowhere that had werewolves attacking it. I didn't get that far into it tho.

Also the black lady character is kind of annoying. The one thing that felt a little ehh was the romance between her and the one guy.

I have read through the series about 4 times now. Although at times it does drag, I fell completely in love with it.

The book makes you feel something...it is impossible to put to words, although 'epic' is pretty damn close.

Another book from him is Under the Dome....900+pages of non-stop action. That book made me want to kill some of the characters lol.
