Just want to say that this problem just kicked in for me and Norton also secured the file. It works fine now, thank you Rogean for the link. If the problem persists ill try it this way,

There is a way around this. I had my Norton detect it as a Trojan as well. You just have to go to setting and put the file in the exclusions section.

I've placed the file on the exclusion list but it doesn't work. I have to turn off norton for 15 min, then add the winsoc file and start up the game. When Norton comes back on it doesn't remove the file until i quit. Not ideal, but it work.
