Heya all [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I think I thought, most of the people are going to be the old time hardcore players who know everything and I would just be a total newbie in everyone's hair.

Also, is it worth me trying? I don't remember much of EQ, it was goodness so many years ago. I did enjoy it and wanting to play a bard again - but like I said, it was sooo long ago.

Thanks in advance [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
I think you will find the players in game to be friendly and helpful especially in the starting areas. Play a bard, or whatever you want, have fun [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

You will. Just don't raid.

That was all I did in EQ1. It was 8 hour raids, almost every night. I was so new, but I played a lot, and I played a bard which was needed. I still didnt learn half the game. But now, I don't have time for raids like that every night like I used to [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]. So that was another thing that thwarted my initial arrival a year ago.

Are there still people who roam and not raid? Or would I be in the *major* minority?

As I have only seen the low to mid level zones here so far, it seems like there are quite a few roamers out there doing pickup groups and stuff. I think the server is more casual than hardcore.

Deadmantis- that is great [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Though raiding would be fun sometimes, I cannot do what I used to 12 years ago! And I figure, why not go through and experience the entire game slowly and enjoy it, if I can. I have a heavy workload till end of August. After that I plan to take a couple of weeks off and just explore and have some fun.

Plenty of non raiders around including me. I like to be on my own timeline and not commited to be somewhere on the drop of a dime, I'm selfish with my time that way. I have raided in the past on the server and it was fine, but the reason it was said not to is due to all the drama and headache that results because of it. If you don't want to deal with it then just play casually and enjoy the game. If you like raiding then go for it, but on this server it seems people take it as seriously, if not more than during the "old days" so be prepared.
