That is a sweet laptop. I don't have the answer on how to do a clean install without all the bloatware, but I would also like to know.

Here is something I found on Tom's Hardware:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/61...dows-bloatware

I bought an Asus G50V-X1 laptop about 3 or 4 years ago and it's still going strong. Mine also came with a bit of bloatware but I had no problem uninstalling most of it. From the reviews I have read on the G73 series is they have a ridiculous amount of bloatware, more than most "best buy" laptops. It's a shame because Asus kicks ass.

i cant figure out for the life of me why LoL is running choppier than my old desktop which was running an allendale intel core 2 duo (1.8 ghz OC"d to 2.5ghz), sapphire radeon HD4850 GPU, and 2gb ram...i tried lowering my graphics setting on league from 1920x1080 to 1600x1050 but saw no improvement. same internet and all that shit...seems like the game may even be loading slightly slower... w t f

just tweaked a ton of windows 7 settings disabled stuff i dont need and adjusted performance mode to never set hard drive to sleep. slight improvement, and i am running it at 1980x1024 again, i may have resolved the issue. It seems like these newer intel processors with turbo boost only kick in the horsepower when its not in idle. I watched my CPUZ and it jumped from 800mhz to 2500mhz...if I can find a way to keep my cpu running at 2500mhz consistantly I might do that. A little weary of overclocking my laptop..this aint a desktop where I can put different cooling and stuff on it, and I don't know too much about these virtual cores and stuff, time to do some reading to get this fucker performing like my old allendale.

Knuckle, go to your local Korean over priced PC fix-up place and see if they will get you a Windows 7 OEM.

I got it for $5 on a burned disc - Windows xp home edition.

Works like a charm as long as you have the proper product code to put in when you install.

EDIT: But then again, I'm not well versed with windows 7 - I hear there are a lot of stupid administrative rights issues. So I'd be wary.
