We need more of this type of content. I wonder which starting zone would allow the greatest possible character growth before it becomes unreasonable?

Thank you for sharing, OP.

Thanks for reading!

I did do an overview of the various zones to see which ones are feasible for this sort of challenge, with a couple of interesting notes:
1. Everfrost Peaks would be my best guess for being able to get from level 1 to the highest possible, simply due to the scale of mobs available. Sadly, I wouldn't choose *only* that zone because:
2. About half the zones would be awful to be stuck inside because they don't have an inherent source of food or water. You'd have to do your entire challenge being unable to regenerate health or mana, unless you could forage. Unfortunately, I'm mostly certain EP is one of those zones.

So, not a clue! I leave the question to be studied by other mad scientists.

How do you decide how far you can go in zones....?

Halfling would have Misty thicket, RunneyEye (leading to Gorge of Xorb) and also Kithikor Forest next door (leading to Highpass hold)

Might be a fun one.

Finally, the one quest I outright failed to complete: The Jaggedpine Crook. I killed so many gnolls in that specific spawn. I killed so many gnolls that I relearned how to use Blender in between kills. I killed so many gnolls that, after I finished playing with Blender, I started recording all the gnolls I killed in a spreadsheet. That spreadsheet says that I killed 325 gnolls in that spot since I started recorded, and only 3 were gnoll hunters. None of them dropped a staff piece, much less the one I needed. The only reason I stopped before reaching 400 recorded (when I would have been actually dry, according to the stats), was because the_fabled_bard on Reddit rightly asked me to. Even if I managed to complete it, I would have only gotten a stick that my character is too dumb to use. Screw this quest. I hope this quest drowns in the lake.
This winter I rolled a mostly-SSF ranger out of Qeynos. I randomly came across a gnoll hunter at the spawnpoint once, one of the two pieces dropped, and after that made a point to always kill the ph and keep an eye out on track for another gnoll hunter. Never saw a second one. I wish it was far less rare so as to be actually achievable.

Thanks for the writeup, it was fun to read!

This is great

I kept seeing you over there killing the same placeholders and wondered what that was all about

Killing NPC's in South Qeynos is how the first Level 60 was reached back in 2000. Those were good times, every city and newbie zone was a hunting ground for high level players, and it created a symbiotic relationship of low level players learning from and selling things for the high level people there. It's possible to go from Level 1 to Level 60 solely in South Qeynos, although definitely not as a solo self-found Warrior.
