Characters are generally KOS in cabilis. You're MUCH farther from CoM and Sebilis if you aren't able to move through cabilis safely. Even if you can, you're still farther away from Karnor's. There is already the OT hammer for travel to northern kunark, so a teleport to cabilis does not provide faster travel to any high-level Kunark area compared to having the FV bind and OT hammer.

you're right that firiona vie docks are nearer dreadlands/karnors, but the cabilis route is lake->fv->dreadlands and not a big enough difference to be worth giving up the other firepot teleports

safety is a non-issue, so you're always closer to both city of mist and sebilis from cabilis. the guards in cabilis are really spaced out, so even if invis started fading you could always avoid aggro. and if you're factoring in hammer, a level 50+ character shouldn't be afraid of the guards anyway lol

It's a significantly longer run (and two extra zone loads), that panhandle from cabilis to Lake of Ill Omen proper is such a timesink.

How is safety a non-issue? Let's say you're a Cleric. You die in CoM or Sebilis and respawn in cabilis, which has KOS high level guards in narrow pathways. I don't recall being able to run through there in that condition. You instead have to run into LoIO and all the way around. Actually, can you even get through the gate guards naked?! There are 4 of them, 2 of which harmtouch!

Also, there are lots of players congregated in FV city during Kunark, you could generally always get a SoW there and immediately run back to KC/Seb.

I'm confused - in this conversation, isn't the mention of Cabilis not a suggestion to bind there, but an argument for binding at Firepots which in turn gives easy access to Cabilis?

Getting past guards shouldn't be a problem - apparently you can count the ticks... or just have your internet go down at a convenient time just as you run past.

It's still the same thing of needing to run through naked, just spawning in the firepot room first and clicking on the Cabilis pot to run back to where you need to be (which makes this 3 extra zone loads compared to a FV bind, forgot to count that first one).

I'm not sure if that's enough time to run through the Cabilis gate, there are 2 sets of guards.

Every class that can bind at the firepots has access to some form of Invisibility ... except Clerics. So even on corpse runs, only Clerics would need "internet issues".

Fucking images, whatever.

Also assuming anyone doing this is gonna be faction questing and getting OT hammer as well because I think these are overlapping kinds of autisms lmao

Was working on this before I quit and my completionism suddenly struck and I wanted to finish it.

I'm a bit iffy on some guard factions, I think the ones that give multiple faction hits might need all those factions raised, they aren't always on a guard faction nor just the warriors guild of that town.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing

My next goal/s would be to include:
1. A chart showing races/classes and what destinations are non KOS by default
2. Info on what level chars get soulbinding spell.
3. Info on locket of escape and time frame binding was possible.
4. Level up/Faction guide tailored to the zones factions in question.
Been a while since I tested(played at all) but Im pretty sure you can pre-nerf CoS/Ring of Shadows/Invis pot the moment you load in, and avoid aggro. I've used pretty much every pot as an Iksar necro and found them far less risky than AFK with lich on.
