Will there ever be a server between P99 and Quarm?

P99 exactly as it is, but with AAs added to make certain classes more useful, and PoP raids added (but scaled down as needed to account for people being in Velious gear, and no PoK) would be quite possibly the best EQ server ever IMO

That'd be the dream. The time sinks only ever existed to keep people subbed and would be bypassed by server progression. For a free to play time locked they don't make sense.

You might think you want those items, but you dont. Once you get them thats the end of it, make another alt and do it again. the rarity or having to work for it makes them have value to you.

You can get those things and more on Quarm but you dont want to go there because once you get it you will realize how empty it is to have it there because it has little value.

You dont want the medium, you just dont know that you dont want to do the grind on a server that has meaning to you.

My 10 or so days on THJ I was farming PoHate/Fear by myself and walked out with enough gems and other crap to buy my epics. didnt feel right.

I just wish they would abandon museum mode and start making "classic in spirit" changes to P99. There is a Ultima Online private server called UO Outlands and the Devs are so fucking good over there. They bust out new patches and new content to rebalance shit in a "classic to UO" type of way while still very much modernizing the game.

"Classic Everquest" did not have guilds with literally hundreds of bots. Every guild has COTH mages parked in all raid zones, entire armies of clerics and rogues, and wizards to port to the planes. And when I say hundreds that not an exaggeration.

prob is that everyone's idea of "classic in spirit" differs, just take a look at whatever the mighty duck fuck Quarm is.. one day that server will randomly have 1000 year old elfkin maidens who look like the Tarutaru from FFXI as a playable race.

A lot of the "as originally intended" is known though and, even when not, has already been changed (OOT boat direction).

Move xp bonus from halflings to humans. Craftable instruments. Unkempt druid alternative to Surefall, complete with different, previously unused rings. Sol Dungeon C. A functioning casino to high keep. A smoke shop to Rivervale and smoking items in the Halas shop. Miragul's Highway accessible to classes with picklock skill. Bard NPCs use songs, including selos indoors. List goes on.

Forget who, but recently someone has been uploading progress on a program that makes certain aspects of development possible/easier, such as building out whole zones, but IDK how feasible that would be, on top of what already needs work.
