Growing up in the desert one of my favorite species of lizard were horned lizards

If they were cold they became so sluggish they would hang on to your shirt laying against your chest for body heat. Wild ones

- has an entire extra sensory system of echolocation

- brain produces a morphine strength endorphin when critically injured so as not to thrash and attract sharks

- skin that is not only conducive to speed but also parasites can’t attach to

- works with other species such as humans to hunt fish together

I mean just imagination away their need for water and boom way more advantages than lizards

Or make octopus overlords. Have you seen all the shit they can do? They spray water at lights and things that annoy them outside their tanks
