I feel like the argument that chanter spells are expensive is moot at this stage in the game. Dictate <20k, bedlam <10k. Both Shaman and Necromancer have more expensive spell sets and both require more expensive gear to function. Heck, twinking rogue with gear will cost you more than it costs to buy the spells for an enchanter.

Dictate, gift of pure thought,Bedlam, visions of grandeur. Much more expensive than a necro spellbook
Enchanter gearing is relatively cheap until you try to get pom gear and whatnot

gift <8k
dictate <20k
bedlam <10k
visions <15k
= 53k

Emissary of Thule <20k
Gangrenous Touch of Zum`uul <30k
Demi-lich <8k
= 58k

Although, Gangrenous Touch is arguably worthless so there's that. Then again, Circlet of Shadow costs about the same as all of the chanter or necro spells respectively.

And yes, as with any class eventually you can find ways to spend silly amounts of plat. Holgresh Elder Beads are quite useful for a necro and cost what, 800k? Whilst being largely 'meh' for an enchanter.

In the grand scheme of things spell costs aren't something that should be detrimental to playing an Enchanter nor do enchanters really stand out in that department when compared to the powerful three (sham necro enchanter)

Gangrenous touch is the best meme spell in the game
Drops from a mob beside the queen thats usually only cycled on quakes. Isn't 100% drop rate, as we found out
Doesn't work for shit. What a crap spell, I think I have one rotting on a bank mule and had completely forgot about it.

Shamans are the only class that is top tier in all three game play areas: solo, grouping and raiding.

Shaman is a pain in raids tbh. I practically never hear anyone go "Oh shit we need a shaman to be able to go". I'd rather play Enchanter.

Across all three categories, monk, bard, enchanter, and necromancer aren't that much lower though and even higher tier depending on the content/role. Overall though, agreed.

Shaman would be good on raids if there weren't way too many of them. Once we have a couple, I'm asking you to swap to cleric or rogue with few exceptions.

Yeah, similar to enchanter. Raid can overwork a select few for more or less the same benefits. It can become an issue though, when they die from attempting to slow the target.
