IMO disregard the XP penalty now that class penalty is gone.

Ogre has the best stats for starting but eventually with raid gear and a lot of dedication you will max stamina and strength either way. Primal weapons will also buff your dex to the point of it being maxed. Agi is more or less useless people say but Dark Elves have the best. Dark elves also have the highest INT, which is hard to max on a class like Ogre so if you wanna be technical, Dark Elves have the best stats for SK.

But..

FSI is considered useful for tanking and can also save your life when soloing and will be a QoL thing to be sure. Personally I'd much rather take regen however. It's not often that it'll make or break anything grouping and you don't really do much during raids anyway, regen will however be really strong for both solo end-game and leveling.

Some still swear by FSI though, so go Ogre if you prefer. I'd go Troll since Iksar can't use the clicky plate items but Iksar does get the AC boost which we don't really know how good or bad it is (afaik). Iksar also looks cool and could never get guise anyway if minmax is an issue for you. Technically guise is not so important for SKs since they get skellyform and they're evil to begin with, so once again up to you.

Iksar War get 34 (or is it 37?) extra AC at 60. All the other classes get 30

So they basically get a free extra breastplate's worth of AC.

Which amounts to probably nothing.

It's supposedly a different kind of AC, avoidance AC or whatever. So may be more impactful than you think.

You guys are making some good points. I never thought about dark elves, but they do look pretty sexy in plate. I already have a troll so I don't want another one. Iksars have tails, so that's out.

I think human or dark elf might be the way to go. Ogres are just so.... ogrey.
