I'll hold out on 7 for as long as possible.

I recently spilt water on my Windows 7 laptop and ruined it so now I am having to use a Windows 10 laptop. Something called Delivery Optimization keeps taking over my internet connection and I can't stop it from updating Edge updates when I don't even use Edge browser. Mind you, Firefox is no different...that keeps nagging me to update and it wants me to buy VPN services. I miss Netscape.

I'm still trying to figure out how to use Windows 10 without having to log-in.

On one of the config screens it says, "We have noticed you use your PC between 7AM and 8PM...". Who the f*ck is we and WTF has it got to do with them when I use my PC?

I hate that edge shit too! What I did was probably not smart...but I just deleted that shit. Straight up found the files and deleted it. It wouldn't let me Uninstall it so that was my remedy.

For a few weeks i got an error message popping up about Edge but it doesn't happen anymore.

I held out as long as I could but my old Windows 7 machine wasn't able to run the games I wanted it to. Upgraded to a 4090 and I don't have to worry about that again for years, but the caveat is I need Windows 11.

You can use uninstallers like Revo to excise baked-in components of Windoze. I always do it with OneDrive and like the Xbox stuff, and a lot of bloatware, that comes with new computers.

Microshaft adds it back in with some update, I remove it again.

P.s. I think Europe defeated Microsoft edge so if you live there it's legally bound to be less intrusive or something.
