For me, Charming was always the route with my Druid, i was just wondering if the damage with Inmolate was noticiable, i guess i will test that at some point, just to satisfy my curiosity.
I never bothered with immolate. I just use epic and root dmg to finish off charmed mobs. And the occasional winged death to balance health.

Do you have to tag the mob every re-root after root breaks to get full dot effect? Or even every root/reroot whether they break or not?

Yes, you have to let the mob swing at you or hit you as the previous poster mentioned, only because the mob did start moving and it seems like root doesn't tell the game they did stop until you come closer to the mob, that's how the game figures out the mob is stationary once again.

This has been a known (bug?) for i dunno, couple years? Any time you have dots on a mob and then root, the game thinks they are still moving as far as your dot dmg / per tick is concerned. In order to then get the full dmg of your dot again you need to get into melee with it, get hit or at least swung at , and back off again

This will likely be fixed next patch. It’s working now on dev server. Just need to rule out any other issues with the fix.

No idea. I root rotted my Druid from 56-60 though last year with ease.
