Suggested today in P99 blue general possibly have a draft event where each entity gets opportunity to kill all raid content.

Call it a rolling draft?

2 days for each entity to clear ToV, 1 day for kunark bosses, 1 day for planar bosses etc. Would take coordination and possibly team ups for certain encounters.

uhm, yes please - the racing, the arguing, the competition is well not a great player experience. People want to experience content. Lets find an agreeable way to do that.

I agree that the dark elf mask shouldn’t be given out as a reward.

It would be cool if there was an event where AoN drops. For example, every Halloween or Friday the 13th, giant undead mobs roam the Karanas. These mobs would be as difficult as Gwurms (require 3-6 players to kill) and AON would be one of the super rare items in their loot table.

Bounty system... except highly coveted raid targets are worth less. Mobs drop normal loot. You've got 4 hours... do you go for Vulak or Statue/AoW which are worth like 1 pt each, or do you slum it and kill Naggy and Vox for 5 pts each to try to win the big prize?

The big prize is of course "the guild of your choice is raid banned for a month."

I thought it was pretty poor.

Not looking to kiss anyone arse. But the event was not thought out. Problems faced were the fact it removes competition without also adding a competitive aspect. It wasn’t even an event for some people, just a normal quake but without a statue kill at about mob 4-5.

It also really illustrates to me that the current staff forget how good p99 raiding was at different eras of this server. Is there any staff around that even remember what lockouts were and why they were removed?

It was fun to do something different but it hardly felt like working together. More just a case of how many bodies can riot and vanquish throw at targets to mow content. That’s every other quake anyway so there was zero difference. The only thing is really did was show the server who kittens really are, opportunistic thirsty goblins. That’s fine, time to drop the facade.

There has never been a time on p99 where the decision to not mow down content has been forced. Global bag limits per cycle could be tested in an event like this. Each guild can kill 7 targets. Just 7, dare go for some crap mob and you might risk your vulak.

We can try lockouts. We can try bidding encounter #’s where guild a might bid they’ll attempt vyemm with 65. Guild b bids 60, and earns first (and only for x hours) attempt. We can try gatekeeper mobs like takish is to tunare, aary is to NToV, vindi is to Kael, talendor is to vp, so on so forth. Ltk is to ST, ring war is to dain. Can we please for the server not just continue to reward this horrible meta you created by rooting dragons and linking guard aggro. Rotate through those and other ideas each quake so everyone gets some variety and is forced to make choices. Not log in enough bane wiz/rog to blow shit up.

Also this server for 13 years has implemented two patches ever that reward non US players. The 2013 net code change that allowed all other countries to zone in to traks teeth or PoF with a kite active. And the 2018 net code change for zoning speed that stopped most non US players zone crashing problems.

Can we follow suit and maybe not plan events around forcing 400 people into a single zone and the associated desyncs? It’s comically often we just ignore the byproduct of desyncs when planning events.

And finally I’d like to point out the sanctity of legacy items. We did not know kunark was going to ever be released on p99. No one farmed guises early on hardcore, it was a novelty to grab one for nostalgia. We were stuck in kunark for years before VP was even released let alone epics. Those early times matter and it’s awesome to see a toon with an original guise, or even just a Tralina/Quikfingerz/Amelinda/Dulcina/Sirken spec guise. That’s why they’re not special on green. Every man and their dog farmed one and five alts worth.

But you don’t need to hand out extra loot, make the events fun and that’s enough. Removing administration time and pressure from these things not adding to the workload sorting through ambiguous prize winners and the wheat from the chaff (cheats) trying to put 1 man on encounter logs. Make good events is the reward un to itself.

As staff, we want your feedback on the event. Did you love it? Did you hate it? Was it too easy? Was it too hard? Do you want more events in the future? What went right? What went wrong? And any other questions/thoughts/ideas that come to mind. This is not a place to complain about guilds not participating/helping.

At least thread made it to the second page before it happened.

Awesome event. Hats off to staff trying something new and adding the players perspective to make events like this better.
