I have no idea what bards are capable of. I have only grouped like 3 times total, but happened to group up with a <castle> bard the other day and was pretty impressed

He was charming adds with me (my huge cha buff apparently helps their charms), and rather than me peeing my mana finishing charm pets, I’d just root it and he’d stack 3 dots on it. Them dots are pretty nasty

And of course that mana song is juicy. It’s a shame that songs don’t affect pets on p99, I coulda swore they did on live EQ

When you have a good Bard, Necro, or Ranger in group - they can impress.

It's just hard to find players who can excel with them in groups.

I keybind every song slot and swap instruments.

It's funny how people joke about how I should play mana song and shut up, but a lot of bards don't even do that. They basically just play a subpar rogue.

I always found it amusing how some games gave Bard classes a weapon like, "Do you want me to play music or no? I need both hands..."

Hell, caster classes don't melee - why should Bards? Jam on my brother. Play that funky music, elf boy

There's no point. Doing one song gets you 90% of the way there. No point in giving yourself carpal tunnel for that extra 10% just so some obese 45 year old man in pennsylvania can get a female druid to level 58 slightly faster.

Bards with Epic should definitely be doing melee enough to sustain the Epic proc, in melee centric groups.
