i've never actually watched him but the small business owners thing (as in politicians claiming to protect them for one reason or another) is often a cover story for large corporations and their interests if you pay attention to popular media and the terms they use. citations needed is a good podcast for that purpose. the small business tyrant is a real force that many of us working class fuckers are familiar with even if we don't have a term for it.

A lot of stores are franchises where the building and land is technically owned by the megacorp but the operator/propietor that actually make a da money is a small business dude/dudette.

i realize how it works on the basic level, i've worked for plenty of these small business tyrants in the hotel industry
