What fixed it for me was instead of extracting the zip into your EQ folder, I extracted the zip into a new folder and then copied everything in that into the EQ folder.
Hope this works for yall | ||

I am opening 2 windows when going to character screen and also having to accept the disclaimer twice now as well. I am receiving the same error message

i guess my confusion is where is this new file? was it automatically applied during the patch or do i need to patch it myself with a zip as you stated and if so i assuome the file is located on this form somewhere? Sorry for my ignorance first time dealing with a patch on these servers.

I have tried the above fixes with no results. I have tried them many times.

I'm also getting this error, even after re downloading the most recent p99files and extracting the spells_us.txt file. Running EQ using wine on Manjaro Linux and middlemand (for server list issues with linux)

Nevermind, I'm dumb. At some point I had downloaded the last patchfile instead of the most recent one. Solved lol

I just copied and pasted all patch files from the folders to their respective folders on my comp and just got in. I was getting the same error.
