As if green in 3-5 years ending will magically change how the ec fat cats drive item prices up.

Some items have a lower bound. Like the fungi tunic I mentioned earlier. I haven't calculated the precise figures but let's say if you calculate the chance the named spawns instead of the PH, and he drops the tunic instead of the robe or staff, and you win the roll over 5 of your group mates, and it comes out to requiring 30 hours on average to win a fungi. Farming raw platinum from say NG/disco bugs for 30 hours, and other pure cash camps, puts a lower bound on how low a fungi tunic can go before it's not worth camping and thus there is no supply to meet the demand. The massive amounts of fungi tunics in circulation probably don't matter that much, because they're on inactive accounts, or already in use and not likely to be sold. Just my speculation, as an expert on nothing.

fungis are still easy to sell, and prices are not dropping. whoever says the opposite is not in the fungi business or just trying to score a cheap fungi

What I don’t understand about this whole “toxic Blue economy” is this: what’s the gripe?
- Fungi SHOULD cost 50k+, it’s a broken item
- CoS SHOULD rise in price because it no longer drops AND it’s a broken item
- Holgresh beads... had em once. Not sure about the 300k tag on that one.
For these “elite” items, it takes some time to buy them? You don’t get a Ferrari for your first car for many reasons...

- Decent newbie gear that drops in CoM (trance sticks, GJBS) SHOULD be relatively inexpensive because, well, cracked staves are obsolete by 4-weeks into Vanilla.

Plat isn’t THAT hard to make. Dedicate some time to it, and you’ll be alright?

That being said, prices seem stable for the short term. They’ll drop slowly.

Folks are complaining about things that are going to eventually impact green too. In my opinion the blue economy was healthier than my live server. Items move very fast, whether on the high end or the low end.

I wouldn't overthink this much. Green is an awesome project that was always going to impact Blue. Blue population is going to fluctuate with each new content drop on Green. In 3.5 years Blue will be king again if Green merges into it because most of those folks are not going to want to reinvest their time starting over on Green again. Some will want the evergreen experience, obviously.

For now, enjoy the lower population on Blue while it lasts. I sure am.

It was at this point I decided to no longer be kind to the casuals as they have extreme short term memory. They did this to themselves, unfortunately.

Blue will never be where it was, but it will be fine until Green hits Kunark, at that point Blue will be taken off life support and the influx of new players will come to a dramatic and crashing halt and the house of cards will come tumbling down to red levels of population (sub 200 pop). Im not joking at all, enjoy the next 13 months while you can.

The large population hit on Blue has already happened. It will go through ebbs and flows with content patches on Green but people still on Blue are obviously in it for the long haul. Blue players that wanted to go Green would have done that already, for the most part. I also disagree that it will never be what it once was. If Green does actually roll into Blue at the end of the patch cycle Blue is going to be the place to be.
