i know we can already upgrade the world textures to some extent but I feel that it could be made even better. Also would something like this allow someone to create more faces for use in the game?

I dream of an ultra moddable game environment. Even it it's only client side.

I did something like this for the EZ server community a while back. Replaced the warrior 3.0 color with an orange color instead of bright blue to make it easier on the eyes, put a good friend's face ( who i played with ) as a new human face texture, and made dark elves gold... FOR THE NEW GOLDEN ELF PLAYABLE RACE! Also did it because at the time EZ had no velious textures, all tiers of armor were just flat out old style so I replaced all the old textures with velious textures and even remapped some of the race/armor class to others. Dark Elf velious Plate armor looks AWESOME on an Ogre fyi... just a little stretched.

OF COURSE make sure you back up your global_chr.s3d and global4_chr.s3d because if you don't and you want your total immersion back don't come bitching to me because you're an idiot.

I believe this is just the armor update - no golden elf... I need to dig that one up a little deeper. I believe the only existing one around may be on my old PC I gave to my inlaws. They live across town so next time i'm over there i'll email myself a copy of the .s3d.

p.s. don't forget to check out the human male face to find my friend. I didn't get a great texture so he looks like he has downs. When I saw it mapped I had to keep it because it was just too funny.

edit: If you have an ogre male in chain be prepared for some cool looking armor.

edit #2: http://www.box.net/shared/fec567q3hm Have that replace your global_chr.s3d file... it contains all of the velious textures AND replaces dark elves with GOLDEN ELVES
