Well I've answered this far too many times to do it again. A forum search for 'boxing', by me, should yield all types of results.

Daldaen, your argument(?) makes no sense. Completely unrelated topics.
Not related but both against the 'play as a community' mentality. You want people to interact with others but selling characters for plat just encourages people to PL their friends alt account to 50 and sell it.

One also eats up a lot more server resources. ie: Costs GMs more money and the other has no adverse affect.

It's not just an issue of forced interaction - people are allowed to solo if they want after all. The issue is about actively impeding the ability of others to group where they want, not to mention utterly destroying the raid scene. I know that the raid scene already isn't perfect, but imagine how silly it would be if guilds could legitimately six-box on raids.

As for making another server for boxers, if the devs feel it's not worth their time, that's enough of a reason not to support it.

Fair, just limit to 2 box then? 6 boxing is lame everywhere, when you have a self sufficient group and can poopsock the most desired camps by yourself. But I don't think a 2 box of 2 level 60s could hold crypt or disco or myncoids or any of the desired camps from Kunark that a solo class can't already.

I thought he had a point. To me, boxing, RMT and selling accounts are evils spawned by classic EverQuest. They're related in their undesirability.

A quick Google search reveals a black market in real-world cash for P1999 plat. It looks like accounts are being sold to convert the plat to cash, and/or bought with purchased plat. Some of the major traders look a lot like RMT businesses and probably are. We see the inflationary effects on the server.

But I'm sure you're well aware of this. You've probably decided the status quo is acceptable. And really, this is how it was in classic anyway (RMT evolved during EverQuest's heyday). I'm sure the server is full of the kind of losers who think buying plat is necessary.

You're doing an amazing job with everything. Don't get me wrong.

Pal, saying the "B" word on P99 is an invitation to have a bucket of shit dropped on you.

I mean just look at the other servers populations that do allow boxing... even with the boxes they don't come close to P1999. And in this day and age, it is a lot easier to make friends with people in-game who can help you out I feel - hell, just post a LFG in the general chat on this very forum and you will probably get some responses from people who play in your timezone/free-time. Either way, it makes it feel more like what I remember playing back in ~2000 than any other emu server [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

No boxing ever. and if they made a second server thats going to split the population and ruin the whole thing. Its just an overall bad idea.
