We had a guild event yesterday:

running with lvl1 DE rogues from Neriak to HHK.

Was lots of fun, i died 4 times and never made it thorugh Kith-Forest but still lots of fun.

Make your mind and create something. I am sure there will be people who participate.

someone setup a weekly p99 fight club.

Make a entrance fee go towards a pot bonus.
Have different tiers, max level, class vs class, naked fights. Maybe some sort of fight against merch/banker? Too bad we don't have GvG in, lot of cool fights could go down that way.

Someone can manage side bets so we all have a reason to attend.
Someone can stream all the action on twitch.tv.

Maybe have a raffle?

I'd totally show up for that shit. Betting alone would make it worth while.

1) EQEmu had/has extremely poor GM event running tools, making any event a huge hassle even with good design and prep.

2) People are super ungrateful, maybe because they don't realize 1.

Because of some Halloween event 6 years ago is why GMs so minimal events. At least that’s the leading theory.

Why don’t you host your own?

Post up a registration. Create some rules. Create some brackets.

You’d lack the ability to bestow an in-game title but nerds that have the gear to win a BotB on this server just want the notoriety. You’d also lack the ability to death touch someone breaking the rules, but I’m sure you could hire a few Rogue or Wizard Bouncers to snipe down someone who isn’t following the rules for you.

This. And honestly I wouldn’t be surprised to see GMs get involved once they see someone lay down the organized groundwork. Even if no GM ever came it would be good for the community and general morale.

Strongly disagree with this statement. Nothing on the server comes even close to the cool factor of a title
