Dont mind the forum trolls they infest every corner here. Just quickly identify them and ignore as fast as possible

The game is more fun without maps. These days I can navigate most all zones from memory and landmarks.

For the random large zones with poor visibility eqatlas tabbed out for reference and good old /loc the works wonders.

I get that, but if everyone is just tabing out to look at maps or have them printed out beside them.. then there’s not much of a purpose of not having maps in game. It would be one thing is no one is using maps and were all going on memory but that doesn’t seem like what’s going on.

The purpose is that prior to luclin the map feature wasn't in the game, the whole point of this server is to recreate the game as it was classic to velious era.

You could always use printed out maps or another monitor back in the day (granted few ppl had multiple monitors back then), but the map feature wasn't in the game at the time

I see, I started right before luclin came out, so I never recall not having them. But I commend them for trying to make it as classic as possible

Autohotkey, GINA & ZlizeEQmaps are pushed under the rug while things like macroeq and showeq will get you banned. I'd comment on my opinion on this but none of you really care, so I wont. Just the facts.

But it isn't "facts". comparing a map program reading your loc from the log file with showeq or some injection program are two totally different categories.

one is making the game easier doing things you can humanly do yourself. one is letting do things and see things you can never actually do yourself in game.

Do yourself a favor and do not use any third party tools (permitted or not) if you're looking for a classic EQ experience as a newbie.

Sirken would not allow these log reading programs if he had his way!
(info obtained from a sirken stream)

How is this relevant? We have Nilbog and Rogean to thank for allowing us to use these programs.
