No. Nothing in the classic era that looks "platey." This includes Rune Etched, Jaundiced Bone, and Totemic.

I don't know if I'd let that stop you from rolling an iksar. Totemic is really quite awful. AC on Rune Etched is nice but the stats aren't great except for maybe the greaves and bp. The only big drawback is not having access to a Jaundiced Bone Bracer but thats certainly not game-breaking.

As an iksar you can get Scaled Mystic armor which is a quested set comparable to totemic. There are also the dropped sets usable by iksar shaman but not available to the other Shaman races: Sebilite Scale drops in Sebilis and Scaled Hierophant armor is their Plane of Hate armor.

Then there is Kylong set which shaman of all races can wear.

Brilliant, always remember seeing Iksar shaman in live back in the day and feeling pangs of jealousy. Just got to sit in EC bored while I wait for Kunark to go live.

Normally I would say troll all the way for the snare clicky and decent regen but since our snare clicky is worthless due to snare server bug, Iksar would be a decent choice. IIRC, Iksar regen is a bit better than Troll. The only downside of Iksar is that you cannot use JBB. I hear Ogres are still not immune to frontal stun from kicks/bash and these are all important things to consider when rolling your Shaman.

IMO, Troll is still the way to go. JBB is just too good to pass up and I'll take regen over frontal stun any day myself.

Just note that Kylong was added with Veksar which was a zone added after Planes of Power. Sadly there will be no Kylong armor on this server.

Also the Scaled Mystic armor was not live at Kunark launch (supposedly only because the quest was broken, not intentionally). It remains to be seen if the devs decide to let the quests work at launch or wait a bit.... I'm leaning towards work at launch [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

There are 2 sets, Kylong Armor and Kylong Darkmail. The Darkmail is from Veksar but the regular stuff is from Howling Stones, so it should be available here.
