Rampage was unhappy with the politics of the raid scene, unhappy with themselves with internal contention between members, and were angry and spiteful of the server.

So like a petulant child that doesn't want to play with a toy anymore yet loathes the idea of others playing with said toy, destroyed it - thus waking the Sleeper before they quit the game.

A few of them did stick around, but the majority of them left the server.

You can talk to some of the old school members of Rampage and they will tell you the story.

It's a nice foray into true nerd drama that has become part of the history of p99.

It still makes me sad knowing the Sleeper was woke only to ruin it so no one else could do so.

If you were the top guild in a game for quite some time and wanted to leave the server for greener pastures but there was one last major, game changing event left to experience, would you honestly just walk away or would you come together for one last time as a guild and participate in it?

Anyone that says they would not participate because they would get more enjoyment from knowing they left up some content for everyone else they would potentially never see again are completely lying or are modern day Saints.

All the other propaganda is just what people are telling themselves because they want to stay mad because they missed the experience/pixels.

Experience the content? There's like 3 buggy scripts where kerafyrm kills dragons in other zones. Really? Trade that for permanently blocking other people from content? Totally a dick move

This is sugar coating the entire situation though, at least from the perspective I was given by a long time member of Rampage.

You are glossing over a lot of the internal problems the guild was suffering from and other details too.

Point is there were many different elements to why Rampage woke the Sleeper.

Pretending it was to experience the last wondrous piece of EQ1 that p99 offered is only telling a small part of the story. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Won't the sleeper return once they get up the "progression" server that resets after so much time? Isn't that still being setup by the devs?

Obviously it is done on blue but I think we should still have something to look forward to on that server, no?

Pure speculation. If the new recycle servers gets off the ground and if the sleeper remains asleep till the end of that server then maybe he could be put back to sleep on blue.
