To answer your question Hailto, basements are popular home design fixtures in the east coast and midwest, and many times parents will let their middle aged children live out elaborate fantasy lives in them.
I wish my parents were that cool, they made me get a job and now I have my own place and gainful employment and stuff. We never had a basement though.

it's like you make the atomic bomb (server) and you don't want to let other countries (guilds) have nuclear secrets (under the radar information). it's gm's business and no one else's or else everyone gets nuked. letting Iran or North Korea beta test and keep the successful nukes, makes other countries uncomfortable.
