AA's area great because it gives level 60's something they can work on whenever they want.

Yeah, I agree, and I think something like a low aa max would be possible on a custom server, like a "spec" system instead of the "eventually get them all" system normal eq went with.

Also, note I think this server should have the net positive xp group mod that red has. Super encouraging to group play.

I really like full loot, but I think too many people would be scared of the possibility "losing everything" and never even roll a character. Our pop would be as low as it is now (like 20 people on during my play hours)

For one thing, making it just kunark I think a low pop would be okay, 100 people would be totally cool I think.

Full loot is rough, but I think I would make leveling, gear acquisition much easier to compensate. Fastish respawns, and no placeholders. Good churning gear ecosystem. With decent items off vendors and maybe pvp point things.

Would also like to make plugging not work, not sure if that's possible though.

Guys over at eqpvp already figured out how to make plugging not work.......

If you want people to actually play on a custom server for more than a month, you have to give incentives for end-game content focused around PVE, or other objectives that take a crew and are not easily gained, otherwise, pvp alone ends up not being enough to keep people logging in.

I think it would be possible to keep the content group sized and longer/interesting. Maybe quest progression type stuff. Or key quests.
