I gave this guild a shot, but if you want to play non-twinked, you're better off doing it on your own. They tend to farm things and pass them out to guildies, which kind of defeats the whole point of earning things as you adventure.

This is a major flaw with the guild imo. We should not give gifts, only sell items to one another!!

If this is sarcasm, I believe it is a flaw in the guild. The point of the guild is to level up and get things through your adventures. When a newly minted level 1 is handed level 20 gear from the guild leader as soon as he or she joins, it robs that person of the opportunity and thrill of playing the game to get it for themselves. Even a fine steel weapon in a level 1's hand goes against the spirit, because it prevents that level 1 from working to acquire better weapons as they level. There's a whole tier of progression that even a fine steel weapon displaces.

The same thing goes for banded armor and Dwarven Ringmail Tunics, both of which I've seen being handed out like candy. One evening the guild was treated to watching Baldere and someone else duo Emperor Crush in guild chat and by his accounts they were epic fights and looked like a lot of fun, but then he turned around and started handing out tunics, thereby taking the reward out of ever going after Crush for whomever received the tunics. Being handed banded armor removes about 15-20 levels of armor progression.

So what is the difference between being handed banded armor at level 1 or buying an Advisor's Robe in EC at level 20? The lines have been arbitrarily drawn when it comes to your no twink policy.

Personally I haven't been given shit. Got a dwarven axe in crushbone, quested some scarab armor, bought a couple pieces of banded. Havent asked for buffs, haven't accepted gifts when offered by non yore folk.

If any of the slander in this thread is true, I think i should be made an officer because i embody the very spiritual essence of this guild's charter

asking for buffs is classic, as is accepting gifts.

this guid has a confirmed non-classic playstyle

many suits of armor / banded have been sold in guild. also i have traded for many items, and bought a few within guild. if anyone is "giving out" banded for free thats a suprise to me as i wasnt offered this even as guild leader. i do know some people have been making banded for people @ the cost of mats.

your a nay sayer! you act as if we aren't hardcore enough and thats our issue? and your also filling this post with lies. i solo'd emperor crush for one. i was waiting on bracer of battle drops to do screaming mace so i kept killing crush for xp. i gave out tunics so they wouldn't rot.

also. i dont recall anyone "farming" shit. we do have a guild bank people can donate items to. when we have events we sometimes let people random on items. no one in our guild is above 31. none of these items are kunark items. its basically for people who come to events but didn't win a roll. also most people decline any sort of gift or help, props to them. However within reason we allow a gift/

our rule set isn't perfect. it is however what the officers and I agreed on so as to play a certain style and still be inclusive.

I'm just saying what I saw. You call me a liar and then support my claim in the same paragraph (see bold). And yes, when you first tagged me, you offered me "junk from our guild bank" and on at least two occasions guildies passing through were dropping banded armor in my tradebox.

I do appreciate what you're trying to do, I think it's a great idea, I just think that people can do it way better on their own outside of a guild setting.

You can still be part of the community and do things your way. There are no negative to being a part of the fun. There are a few members that are hardcore and wont accept gifts from guild members. You're allowed to use your best judgment on that.

This is the other problem with the guild, you've got an elitist attitude towards the rest of the server and you start hurling insults whenever someone doesn't agree with you. I predict a meltdown of epic proportions in your future.
