I also recommend doing most of your leveling <35 in Kunark. The point where it's safe (as a monk) to run around elsewhere is about when FD hits 120 or so (ie it's reliable) and sneak is high enough that you won't spend 10 minutes pressing the button hoping it'll work. As an Iksar, you can't beat how close all the leveling zones are since you can travel through Cabilis freely.

Banking on Antonica is pretty easy. Technically you don't need to do any factionwork, but faction does make it easier. NFP is the easiest 'good' one, and the one I ended up doing (because I can't resist killing dark elves for their meat - no red wine quest for me, I need their flesh!). You don't even have to touch militia faction. Just spend a few hours killing >500 deathfist orcs in WC/EC and you're good to go.

Here's a video I made showing one of the routes you can take to reach the NFP bank as well as how to bank around the wall. I can run around most of NFP without being assaulted, unless I'm an idiot and go near the bard guild where they still hate me.

Still working on highpass faction myself. I'm good with the guards but still need a few hundred more scalps before the banker decides I'm okay. I managed to fix caster guild faction so that Ran jerk won't nuke me to death on sight. A million more CB orcs need to die before I can get into Kelethin. Anyway, as you can see, it's a long road for iksar if they don't want to be hated.

The lower levels (15 and under) are a huge pain in the ass no matter where you level. You think going to EC will make it easier...but it wont...these levels are just brutal on P99 anyway you cut it. After 15 I feel like classes come into their own more and it's easier...at 17 getting FD is definitely a game changer, and before you leave Kunark you need this skill IMO or your going to have a bad time.

You need to get FD, and you need to level sneak skill - best way to do this is to bind sneak to FD so that everytime you FD you also sneak. Takes times to level both these skills and you should put some training points into them as well.

My first character on P99 was a monk - my best advise is just ignore the fact that you get AC penalties for weight, pretend they don't exist and go about your business as you normally would until you get higher level and can do something about it.

You can make an "EC Mule" and transfer all your funds to said mule instead of bank...A lot of people will make a low level Bard (Selo's!) with the sole purpose of being a constant EC presence - buy/selling/transferring - makes it easier than coordinating multiple banks on multiple characters.

Stay in Kunark until 17, you're not missing anything in the Old World that Kunark doesn't have to offer or do better. When you reach level 20 send me a PM and I will run you through Dalnir to get Cresent Armor - that will last you all the way to 50 if you want it to - and its free. I also have a Jade Mace I can give you.

I know you are concerned with making and banking coin to level your character, but you make so much more PP on higher level content than you do on lower level content that its dumb - You can make good money from level 19-33 in Highpass and Highkeep. In highpass you can get Shiney Brass Idols (sell 500pp in EC) and in Highkeep you can sell/bank with the FD/sneak technique and make large gains (I almost always level in Highpass/Highkeep and leave with several thousand PP at level 31-32)
Wow thanks for all the info and dungeon run offer. I don't even remember Dalnir. I know I probably did it back in the day but it escapes my memory.

Thanks to everyone for all the good info. Very useful and appreciated. It's nice to see such a helpful community in an MMO after years of wallowing through the cesspool of other MMO forums. Refreshing! Ironic that I had to come back to EQ to find it.
