I feel this method assumes those rolling will help with the quest. Otherwise it discriminates against those from smaller guilds because not everyone is in large guilds to get quick support. I'm just trying to be fair for everyone by saying a half hour in advance.
Makes sense to me.

Feels like this change benefits you and you alone. Thanks for the tip but I think everyone agrees the time to roll is XX:45

Excuse me , but you asked people last night if it was okay to change the time and 2 people responded NO. Take this to a vote before changing anything. You basically said you are changing the time as if you had any authority to do so with no one supporting you. Tonight has to remain at xx:45, you started this conversation after people logged off after losing the roll.
And yes the extra helps people get their friends to run to the middle of EW to help them.
Thank you.
Incorrect 5 people were agreeing to change the time. There is no point in sitting around for 30 minutes or so. If you plan to do the ring roll bring friends the Chief is easily soloed by some classes. Generally people will help you I have stayed around to help the winner multiple times.

There is no set time I personally need to do this but it just makes more sense to have the roll closer to the actual mob spawn time. If you can't view it that way well that is unfortunate.

And advertising the time isn't anything negative.. if someone wants to find the timer out its easy.

makes far more sense to roll far in advance for people to gather the help they need

-my guess is that it is 5 people all in the same guild.

-I origionally stated that if you want to change when the roll happens you should create a poll and see how people respond to it. But just reviewing this thread there are plenty of people who disagree with changing the time sooner to the spawn.

Why don't the roll losers help the roll winner?

some people do, but not everyone is available to. i usually go to bed due to the late hour if i lose the roll , if it was a few hours earlier i would stay to help. for me i can say even if the roll was closer to spawn, i wouldnt be able to stay to help at a late hour since i need my rest for work.

No skin in the game at all, but this makes sense to me. 30 minutes is hardly much time to wait in EQ and better than wasting multiple players' time to show up to help if you lose the roll. Granted, if all people rolling agree to help, who cares then?

Don't know the original poster, but I thought this was sort of a funny thread to read.

You wouldn't need time to gather a force if you rolled 5min before the spawn to roll.

People are way more likely to help a stranger if it is a 5-10 minute affair rather than a wait 30 minutes then a 5-10 minute affair.
