This sounds like an outsiders opinion, yes there are a lot of people at the high end because the server has been up for so long but there are pixels to be had and more than just bosses to kill. There are several raid encounters a top tier guild would undertake that require "dungeon crawls" in velious.
I guess I'm an outsider because I'm not in those 2 or 3 guilds that take this raiding scene to a level of insanity. Done alot kunark raiding and some velious bosses too tho.

But yeah, those few examples doesn't still mean you arent asked to log in at weird hours to kill some dragon or have your char camped at same spot for days because you might need to log in. I heard there is currently about 30ppl at ToV entrance waiting for dragons to pop too. Also heard there was like 150 people waiting for Venril Sathir to spawn the other day for like 5 hours? Sounds super fun way to spend your night.

And for the OP, it sure is worth coming back. You will most likely have alot fun, but don't expect any sanity in the top end raiding scene.

Another new player here. I think it's definitely worth coming back.

I tried going back to live, and even rolled on the Ragefire progression server and neither did it for me. P99 is the only thing that brings back the nostalgia, with its corpse runs at level 1, no compass, no map, no shared bank--everything about it is hardcore.
