Yea...I really just want to stop. Its one thing i really dont like about myself..its a pretty gross habit. Not to mention they cost 11.25$ a pack here. I tried to chew a few pieces of that nicotine gum but that shit was just straight up nasty...ughhhh

1. To fall or slide back into a former state.
2. To regress after partial recovery from illness.
3. To slip back into bad ways; backslide.

You're smart.

Im a recovering addict..I went through rehab a long time ago, NA, Doctor's Treatments.. I'm familiar with the word relapse and what it entails.

The cause of relapse is that you fail to contain that bubbling urge inside you to use whatever substance you were addicted to. Now...why do you have that urge? Because whatever you were doing made you feel GOOD...Opiates got me high, They felt fucking great when i were on them. So even now i still have some days where i might feel like i want to use an Opiate, But that isint a road i travel anymore. When i smoke cigarette...All im doing is just smoking a cigarette. The only reason im smoking that cigarette in the first place is because im feeling physically uncomfortable due to the nicotine withdrawals, Not because if i smoke that cigarette i get super high from it..I feel nothing but grossed out. The whole reason its hard to quit smoking is because the nicotine withdraw will drive you up the fucking wall. After the withdrawals are gone...There is no more urge to smoke. With narcotics...you will still WANT to use way after physical withdrawals subside because that certain drug made you feel so (fill in the blank with w.e) Why the fuck would you relapse on cigarettes? Better yet...How the fuck? Ive never heard of that in my entire life..Everyone ive ever known that stopped using tobacco stopped using it forever. Just a weird ass concept to me

SORRY IM NOT HOME RIGHT NOW- IM WALKIN IN A SPIDER WEB

REALLY FUCKIN SUCKS. Im going crazy. Im only 16 hours into this thing and i want to rip my hair out already. I quit opiates cold turkey after being addicted for three years, This was two years ago. I withdrew from taking 200mgs a day..It lasted 5 days and was probably the hardest thing ive ever done. Ive been clean over 2 years now...So WHY IS IT SO HARD TO QUIT SMOKING!!??

/rant off

*sigh*
Quitting smoking sucks, I've been "clean" for nearly 8 months and just recently fell off the wagon. Bought 2 packs this last week, I know it won't last though. After a few weeks I honestly couldn't stand cigarettes and I don't really care for them now. After a few days you lose the taste, after a few weeks you lose the craving.

It Gets better!

2 packs a day for 30 years, and I quit 1.5 years ago. Have wanted to light up every day since quitting. Quitting is hard, and accepting that nothing will make it easy is the 2nd step.

Thats insane....Really interesting to me that a few people here have claimed to still be mentally addicted to cigarettes even after a year + of not smoking. If you "want to light up" that urge is coming from you being mentally addicted since the physical withdraws are long gone..

The ONLY reason its hard to quit smoking for me is the annoying physical withdrawals, and the knowledge that if i take just one drag the physical uncomfortableness would immediately melt away. I'm curious as to how you got mentally addicted to cigarettes? I HATE smoking...i only do it because im physically addicted...If my body does not have nicotine i feel "off" to say the least..But i have never "WANTED" to light up a cigg, It brings me no enjoyment whatsoever...

hmmm...

After many many years of smoking(close to 40 for me) your mind build mental queues that trigger the want of nicotine. such as after a meal, after sex, While playing poker. a mired of things that trigger that long term mental conditioning that will be in your brain forever.
I quit a year ago last OCT when smoking almost killed me. After having pneumonia for the 3rd time that year I was released from the oxygen tent to go home and on the way out of the hospital in the parking lot I tried to light u and collapsed and ended up staying in the hospital another 3 days. That was the straw that broke this camels back. My point is that after long term smoking your brain wants that nicotine, and it has built mental triggers that makes it want that nicotine. Those do not go away over night. It can take many years to clear your mind of them. I still have at least one craving a week. and expect to probably have them once in a while for the rest of however much life I have left.

How to quit smoking..

Move to BFE.

After move sell your car or disable it in some way

If you want a Cig bad enough to walk 40 miles to the closest store, then your hooked and this wont help.
