More strength = more dps, but how much more?

My rogue is currently running around with 1700 gold as I haven't been to the bank forever,

However in terms of str I keep mine about 190, as shaman buffs max me out - very rarely will I be grouped without a Shaman around.

Druid and shaman strength shouldn't stack ...

Correct, Druid and Shaman STR do not stack. In the case of the Druid's best STR buff (Girdle of Karana) vs Shaman's best STR buff (Focus of Spirit), Focus will land, Girdle will be overridden.

Str stacks wih focus, but only if str is casted first

Not sure if druid str gets overwritten, but maniacal str def stacks with focus

Strength and Dexterity stack with focus ... that's one of the reasons these two statistics are so trivially capped in the high end velious raiding scene.

I have seen the damage formula for max hit listed as (((OFFENSE+STR)/100)*DMG)+DMG BONUS
But this seems to be wrong because according to this my max hit on a T-staff at level 60 with 255 strength should only be 164, but I cap out at 172. So either I am doing something wrong or this formula is incorrect.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

AGI loss due to encumbrance has minimal effect on dmg taken...it lowers avoidance AC if I recall correctly and not mitigation AC. Of course, it slows you running so, yeah you'd take more damage from that.
Anyway, that's how I remember it from Live back in the day, dunno if it's the same here.
