As for my part in the whole situation. You were involved and intended on rapturing Gyno or atleast saying that in TS. So lets not deny that. That's why I even started fucking with you. All in all though. It was playful even though I didn't like the making a mockery of my good pal gyno in front of whole guild. As far as Retti. He usually takes shit to the next level. But so did you.

That being said. Gong and Colgate's reaction was purely in response to your overly ridiculous Berg out. You talk about Gongshows vanity but just reading your posts its all about how you were the officer. You control loot. You are above everyone else. You need to be respected. Get over yourself. Officer of elf sim game. If you handled the situation differently you would've gotten a more favourable reaction from your fellow officers.

Fact remains. However you want to spin it. You bergd out. That's why you didn't get the support of officers. Not because we are all in Aimchat. Honestly not sure there is person that despises me more than gongshow and its not like the officers haven't had it out for me before so not sure why you think Aimchat tag is the reason you weren't supported. Apparently not. This is where the officers (Colgate, Gongshow) pull my legs out. They unban both Incognito and Draga from Teamspeak, rez Draga back in, and ultimately try to be diplomatic in a situation where it’s not only completely uncalled for, but where it does more harm than good. So of course many people in the know are very surprised at how this played out, given the two individuals involved, and who Cyren is, and was to <Empire>.

Being bulldozed like that would equate to a giant slap in the face, given all Cyren has done for the guild.

Basically what you need to know is, I didn’t “step down,” I didn’t leave with the intention of “taking a break,” and I didn’t “berg out.” I was all but forced out and left because Gongshow has an enormous problem with his own vanity, which manifests itself in the perpetual state of needing to be seen as a good guy, the pal, and to never dirty his hands in a way that might make him enemies. Retti and Mornin cried in AIMchat, Gongshow and Colgate didn’t investigate the problem, they hamstringed their own officer, didn’t attempt to fix the problem, suggested it was my problem, haphazardly dealt with the real issue at ahnd and left me feeling desolated.

I don’t mind Gongshow and Colgate as people, and I did enjoy their company as officers at one time. It’s just that after everything, they register to me as acquaintances now rather than the good pals they used to be.

Every leadership style has its positives and negatives. That aside, with the additional anecdotes it looks like the legs were definitely cut out, and then-some, way too fast.

That type of knee jerk response and undercutting of an officers decision is going to escalate things quickly.

If you didn't quit I don't know what kind of person that would make you. I'd have probably quit. Although there were probably opportunities for further negotiation, and I'd say this end result has more to do with <Empire> never having had to deal with a highly charged situation like this before.

TLDR; Cyren probably deserved better here.

This is just a small taste of the bullshit that happens with aimchat. I told Colgate I was done with Empire when they failed to honor their word the weekend I found out that Gyno was in possession of Vapos accounts and was the one selling the gear at almost half the price via Pixelpalace in ooc.

Criticise me all you want, I genuinely loved this project and enjoyed building the community, donating monthly an average of $50 over 2 years and spending much time helping new players trying to keep them playing here. Cyren was a fun guy to play with and against up until he became heavily invested with the aimchat circle jerk.

since you never actually spoke to us about it, you weren't aware that in reality in aimchat, mornin and retti's bitching was responded to by telling them to shut the fuck up and stop being retards. leaving the hackle hammer loot discussion also prevented you from hearing the in-depth conversation about how rettiwalk is/was shitlisted and his actions the previous day were the primary reason he wouldn't seriously be considered on it or anything he wanted for the foreseeable future. you rejoined the channel, after omai asked why you were seemingly still upset, in the middle of gongshow's opinion that your behavior was an overreaction.

i suppose it will boil down to an agree-to-disagree situation; you will never see it in any way other than the way you saw it in the heat of the moment, and i just don't agree with suddenly treating a common situation drastically differently just because it happened to you and you're an officer. i never freaked out when hona would attack me at raids and spam me with threats, including real life ones, in tells. i would hope that if i acted that way publicly, i would also be brought back down to earth. i also do not agree with an officer believing that his actions are untouchable when every other officer disagrees with them. the guild has just never operated that way.

it's rather disappointing that someone like yourself, who usually gives off an attitude of calm levelheadedness, is taking it beyond the game and playing the "we can't be friends anymore" card over a situation where we just wanted you to take a step back, calm down, and reasonably approach the issue. i still consider you a good pal at the end of it all.

Loot diet and sanctioned grief sound like sufficient action was in the works, despite a few missed opportunities to discuss what happened as Colgate said.
