My dear Senior Rational Extremist, I believe you have overlooked a key detail in your research!!

Japan cartoons were censored for having content of a pedophilic nature, yes? Surely you, in all your wisdom, can understand this is quite a lot different than censorship of homosexual themes.
I submit to you the following notion - one of these things should be censored and the other should not.

Yours in Faith,
Pokesan

With the utmost respect, as accords your Senior position, I lack the credulity to believe this can actually be the reason for your objection.

Am I so out of touch with youth culture that this is what a serious moral objection is founded on - video game nudity?

Self censorship the worst kind of censorship.

Thank god I can still play The Witcher series in all of its overly sexualized and uncensored glory.

This Is the fundamental problem with morality. It is subjective. Many people believe both are wrong. Many believe the former is fine and the latter is not. Others might believe the opposite. Reason tells us that neither practice is without consequence (perceived or real) just as any other practice that is or has been morally objectionable to persons throughout history.

Private parties should be free to reject or embrace ideas as they see fit and rally around them. The only issues that I take with censorship though are hipocrisy and government imposition on diverse societies.

If Cartoon Network UK does not wish to promote gay culture, that's their choice. You don't have to watch their programming. If they do want to promote it, that's their choice and opponents don't have to watch it. The same goes for any other content, provided it does not explicitly incite criminality.

Which Japanese cartoons are we discussing?

Murder and Rape are acceptable by some, but we as a society have made a value judgement that these things are not OK. Gay anime characters fondling little boys is generally frowned upon and I have no issue with this type of censorship, nor does any reasonable human being.

Censorship when someone really has something to say is way different than when someone is going to ridiculous extremes only to make a point that they are being censored.

Sexuality against children is a particularly dicey subject to some people and making light of it is even worse than forced censorship. Sometimes you have to pick the lesser of two evils

None. I'm talking about video games being censored in their western localizations due to pressure from special interest groups who don't buy the product either way.

There's usually one or two games per year (almost always dating sims) that have their content trimmed down a bit, but this year there have been over two dozen fighting games, RPGs, FPSs etc. being censored or modified for political correctness, last year there were quite a few more than usual as well.
