Well, for me the big draw of R99 was end-game pvp and raiding, not grinding up a lvl 1 in rags, I already did that in classic.

For Dota2, I like to look awesome as I slay my enemies.

Money allows for these things to happen without spending precious time "grinding" to achieve the part of the video game that is fun.

It's not rocket surgery man.

I understand paying $10 for a cool skin on a hero you really like or play a lot, but then there's the people who spend literal thousands of dollars to have them all and probably 2/3rd of them have never been used. Or people who treat TF2 hats like a full time job, when they could just get... a full time job.

ive never spent money on a video game. unless im purchasing the game itself, and its something you cant pirate and play online. i just dont understand it. i know at least a few nerds who have spent over $1,000 on league of legends skins.

This has been a huge cultural phenomenon lately, glad to see someone bring it home and put it all in perspective. Seen women all over my snapchat/IG posting comments and playing song clips about "Eating the booty", mainstream radio interviews discussing it, etc.
