Would you prefer a bit more transparency in politics, as Russia has with its known government sanctioned autocrats and oligarchs (oligarchs are merely their version of billionaires, they choose to "name and shame" oligarchs in Russia through state-sanctioned media, which adds tremendous transparency, making sure people are aware of what big money is doing and that big money can be evil. And many people appreciate Putin for doing so despite being an autocrat, you get to know him and his administration and how it operates, and the fact that it considers big money a threat and acknowledges so in government sanctioned news.
