They are basically Methodist extremists.

All Protestants are extremist. They all broke off from the Church in order to make up their own rules. History is awesome.

As for Mormon's as mentioned in this thread, they are a multicultural mash of beliefs. They are not Christians at all, unlike what's said in newspapers and such. They believe in aliens (Elohim from the planet/star, Kolob). They make MANY comments about how their belief is the same as modern day Christains, but they are all lies from the underline truth that their religion was founded by a Criminal/Scammer named Joseph Smith, who raised a militia to fight the USA Army (read US history) so that he could have his own state/country and have his believers live there in 'safety'. They are disgusting people who just smile when you tell them the truth.

Also, they believe in the 'Great Apostasy'. This teaches Mormons that all other Christians got it wrong and haven't been following the true God for a long time and they are a condemned.

Mormon's are awesome!
Because Wikipedia is the source of all accurate information. Anyway, I'm not interested in your discussions about religion, I'm just looking for some peeps to chat with that play P99 in my religion.

None of these beliefs are any more or less absurd than any other religion, except maybe Buddhism which is closer to a philosophy. It only seems absurd to us because some elements of classical Abrahamic religions are part of our culture.

I think there are objectively more and less batshit crazy religions. Mormons are like Christians + a bunch of shit Joseph Smith made up, including some shit about getting your own planet when you die and other sci fi fantasies. As such, they are objectively more crazy than your standard run of the mill Baptist or Orthodox Christian. Some branches of Christianity are more likely to believe in 6000 year old earth, literally interpret Noah's Ark, the creation story, etc. Some branches of Christianity consider pretty much all of the bible as just a good story and words of wisdom to live your life by. Clearly they are objectively less absurd than most.

It is illogical to presume that breaking off from a religion constitutes extremism. May Protestant groups broke away because they didn't want to be as extreme as Catholicism.

Anyway... cool to know there are JWs that are enlightened enough to realize a silly game isn't going to make them succumb to "witchcraft."

See Ireland for a good example of a lasting conflict over this [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Of course we count our age, we just do not celebrate it. If you want to know why, I will pm you since I don't want to spark controversy in this topic.
