This would actually give us evidence as to whether people trained eachother in some circumstances. Like if a monk suddenly disengages on two sand giants and someone else suddenly re-engages, it's not incontrovertible proof but at least it's something.

Very interesting. Thank you for the peek behind the data.
I may not have to /surname Fraps after all. (Flip answers aside - that is freaking fantastic, and great code work! Hope it eases some of the GM's headaches.)

The main focus here is... if the mob has 0 people on it's aggro list, it wipes it's encounter history. When it dies, it saves it's encounter history. This means that the only situation that monk would show up is if the second player had aggro on the giants BEFORE that monk feigned death.

It looks like in searching for a mob name you could find all the encounters related to it. I imagine it could be a lot of trouble to figure out if there was a train unless each mob has it's own unique ID? could follow a train (heh) of progression for it's engage/disengagements.
Mob 17 -> Engaged by PlayerA at 5:37:08 Mob 17 -> Disengaged by PlayerA at 5:37:45 Mob 17 -> Engaged by PlayerB at 5:37:48 - kills player and disengages Mob 17 -> Engaged by PlayerC at 5:37:48 - kills player and disengages Mob 17-> Engaged by PlayerD at 5:37:52 - kills player and disengages I guess if you could filter by the mob ID (assuming there are unique ones, that is) that could work as a "train catcher."

mob has to die for it to show up in the log, otherwise it wont save its encounter log. there are ways for us to determine aggro when a mob ISNT killed, but it isnt in a nice setup like this is.
