My little Gnome Necro has been doing just fine working my way to 40. Stick with a race you like, the game would be really boring if everyone rolled Iksar for their Necros.

i'm going to stick with DE for now and see how it goes.
I just cant afford to reroll. it is very tempting though. that extra regen sure seems to matter while soloing according to people. I do like Dark Elf though. | ||

I may wind up making an iksar necro at some point when the mood strikes. Until then, I don't know what I'm missing and necromancers of any kind are amazing. I've played optimal and less than optimal combinations and I don't find that I'm categorically drawn to the superior combo if I'm invested in the character.
