Naw, I remember it working until after velious was released. it was during duels though, that might change something.

I started playing after Kunark was released, but before Velious dropped, and you were not able to charm/fear PCs then, so it had to have been changed before kunark.

I played a level 12 dark elf enchanter day one of EQ launch

I rp'd out to crushbone to kill light skins, per my at the time woodelf roomates request.

I would stand on that hill up top with faction at that little orc camp and charm people who were grouping together.

Nothing was funnier than charming the main tank of a group, turning him around on his own group mates, and the aftermath in /Shout that would ensue.

That and whenever someone would be arguing with you about some shit, and you just fear them and they run off like a bat outa hell and you go on with your buisness.

for the record rallos zek had fear/charm taken away within like a month, it was sad.

either same patch or shortly after you couldnt loot primary weapons.

but i had already layed waste to faydwer and builtmy throne.

Pretty sure your wrong as I was 3rd enchanter to 50 on RZ as Rigamortiz..


Charm worked for ALOT longer than a month because it took longer than a month to get 50 and I was charming Teldrin/Nizno and having them fight their own group members all the time... (Nothing like charming a warrior with blade steel of kitana lol)...

Fear/Charm would be a horrible idea for a discord server... But its whatever.

When you were a kid a 'like a month' seemed like a year.

Wither way it was the first major pvp change. I doubt you were charmimg people at level 50 unless you were one of the games first level 50s

Hmm i just read that feared players took 100% nuke damage.. Maybe im wrong and the 66% damage change came first. I have shadows of memories of that too!

I was in naggy raid guild Nephilim at the time I think was near charms final days. Tough to recall but I think Charm and fear lasted no more than several months. Probably 5 or 6.
