Not with Kunark era mob hitpoints and damage output.

Unless of course you are into chain casting a pet 3-4 times per mob and then meditating for 5 minutes after each kill.

IIRC, it had some limited uses, I just can't remember what exactly. What comes to mind is fire immunity + the fact that it casts some decent wizard nukes that also interrupt other casters...Although its been so long im not sure it's fire immune (although one would think so).

pretty sure 99% of people rolling mages just want to blast to 50 and twink their real toon.
