I played live on launch, and i was a dark elf cleric. i levelled slowly, and i couldn't kill anything by myself. i remember this really frustrating me. i clearly remember trying to kill a crocodile in the old school cazic thule at the zone in when i got a new nuke at 34 (i think?) and failing miserably.

fast forward to velious. i still suck and cant kill anything, but im used to it now. i was running to frozen shadow, which was and still is my favorite zone, and i see a huge ass turtle swimming out to the ocean, being beat on by gnolls, and being summoned back by the boss gnoll. it was called lodizal, i had never heard of it before. it was at like 5% health. i nuked it twice, one got mostly resisted, but when it died, i got xp.

i looted the thing and it dropped aegolism, a belt, some other spells and the scale. i told my guild and a guildie told me to give him the scale, he knew what to do with it. he was a druid. so i did, and he found me half an hour later and handed me a lodizal shell shield which was so ridiculously good i couldnt believe it.

tldr- played a cleric on live that could never kill anything alone and then solo'd lodizal in velious for phat lootz

I was a bit of a troublemaker. Got temporarily banned several times for foul language, FD training and killing a Guide, etc.

Highlight was having my character sent to "jail" which was the kitty cat room underneath Erudin. Nobody knew about the kitty room at the time, and nobody would believe me that I was actually there.

The entire journey from Gfay to Erudin for the first time when I was like level 11 back in 1999. Nothing will ever equal it.

I did nothing memorable on live aside from get a captivated interest in EQ that lasted until I found this server.

Most of my favorite moments are from this server.

Killing Zordak Ragefire with Zagum and Luchino in TMO. First contested mob I killed in EQ, and since it was on farm status for them, they let me loot all of the blazing armor. I was the only person in my guild Flawless Victory with the armor.

Getting the killing blow on the first Eye of Veeshan I fought was pretty cool too. I love this screenshot because you can see people that are now in Asgard, Taken, Forsaken, and Rampage.

Walking into Veeshan's Peak or Temple of Veeshan for the first time was pretty memorable. Killing Trakanon with the A-Team for the first time was pretty cool too. My first planar raids in Hate and Fear were pretty cool; my first planar drop came from the last mob up in Hate.

One that comes to mind is my guild 'invading' Rivervale and declaring martial law on the city. We started shouting threats to the mayor and sherriff and the newbies would have to pay taxes to us otherwise we were going to kill everything. This was on a PvE server so we couldn't kill the players, we did it because we were bored. Newbies started roleplaying in shout and ooc, telling us to get out of the city or face the wrath of the halflings. They challenged us to duels, we pulled the sherriff and mayor and they 'chased us out of the city'.

We honoured the halflings for their bravery and a successful defence, /kneeling and /saluting them, and asking for forgiveness by handing out weapons armor and food. Everyone had a grand old time and I like to think we instilled some pride into the people participating.

Item Loot was the only good thing about PvP servers. Removing it was the nail in the coffin of bad design decisions for EQ PvP.

One, being a wizard and swimming down to Phinny on my lunch break to trio him for my crystal staff with a mage and enc friend we were all mid 50's and felt great. Finished Epic shortly after.

also playing on Rathe server the top guild was Blood(brotherhood) of the spider. Being a mid level toon and velious just being released i saw a BoTs member sitting in EC tunnel by shady. Being a curious newbie i wanted to inspect her gear, before i reached her she had logged out and had a bag appear where she was sitting. Heart racing i picked the bag up and to my shock was filled with goodies. Manastone, heiro cloak, coldain gloves/boots and a few others i can't remember. I didn't get the chicks name, never found out if she quit and left this on purpose or if it was a bug, but man it felt great.
