A fresh non-teams Red server launched after 6 months to a year of Velious would draw way more players than I think anybody can foresee or wants to admit

And it would retain less than half of what a fresh Normal server launched in the same timeframe would retain.

A fresh blue server would hold solid 1000~ numbers for quite awhile, red will peak at like 400, then drop down to 300 after a few days. Then after 1 Zerg forms and dominates it will drop to the same 150 neckbeards, as is the case currently on red.

There are actually a great deal of old-school Red EQ players that are on Blue that came to the project a little bit late and would love to play on Red but don't like the low population. There are also tons of players who are sick of FTE races and /ooc PvP.

Just the old world with 400-500 people PvP would actually be awesome. Teams would likely make it an even bigger draw and would increase that population. Because of how long Blue has been around and the number of people who would love to see it "wiped clean" a fresh Red would attract lots of players.

What hurt the Red server is the time it was launched as well as the relative infancy of the whole P99 project at the time. It was never able to pick up steam. Also, much of the population of Blue server is a ton of nubs who are not interested in the added dimension of PvP whatsoever. They'd rather play dress-up-my-dolly-quest and wipe with full groups in Velks or wipe with 20 to WW Dragons as others sit back and laugh hysterically.

I have a red toon but I don't have shit loads of time to play the game. I love how desolate and "virgin" the world feels and the non-abundance of twink gear but I can't really put in time to lvl my toon to even see some actual PvP. This is a major deterrent for most interested players. Now that Velious is out and theres a ton of new stuff to do I am even less motivated to level my red toon.

Hey man, DUMDQ is totally where it's at here on p99. Don't you be hatin' on the DUMDQers! Without us Rampage, Forsaken, Taken, & BDA could never fill out those 9000-toon rosters! Why, without us DUMDQers posing in the tunnel, EC would be an empty wasteland with nothing but a bare handful of lonely lowbies LFG.

LOL exactly, fucking awesome acronym btw rofl

What the DUMDQers don't understand is that now with the Velious launch they're not dressing up their dollies, they're dressing up the inner circle of their guilds dollies. There are so many mouths to feed and very long waitlists for gear that very few of the nubs are even going to see or get.

What's TMO gonna do now that they abandoned red and they have to rebuild their legion of followers that assures them the lion's share of the loot? The "fun" part of the game for them is not an option at this point.

From what they posted on their guild thread Forsaken has an open DKP bid system and many of TMOs old players, unlike the DKP/Loot Council hybrid of old TMO and also of Inglorious Transatlantic Basterds Half Of Old TMO Officer Core Rampage.

The DKP/Loot Council Hybrid is one of the biggest scams ever conceived on this server. Its incredibly effective and the DUMDQers fall for it hook, line, and sinker. Bust your ass for DKP you don't even get to bid with and the "Loot Council" is going to award the phats to the inner circle for months, and you can't say shit about it or the pixel faucet gets turned off. It should be straight DKP or straight loot council.

These guilds operate remarkably similar to a pyramid scheme, where your "success" in the organization is mostly dependent upon "when you bought in" and whose balls you fondle (cue Rick and Morty "Ball Fondlers" video)

TMO went "all in" on Red and lost

News flash nubs - you can get better gear in Velious than the All/All NToV drops that you will never see if you just look for it.

Winter is here, gentlemen - bring your parkas its gonna be a cold one
