Infidels. You were better off under British rule. All you had to do was pay taxes on your tea imports... it wasn't much to ask, was it?

As soon as we had gone, you tore down the proclamation line (protecting a lot of Indian land that we said we wouldn't go past) and went to town on the Indians amid a mass land grab! Wouldn't have happened under the British Empire...surely? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Happy 4th pals, from your forsaken old rulers.

Well, you went on to do the same thing to the other kind of Indians. So it actually probably would have happened.

For real though, how many countries in this world did The previously Great Britain invade and slaughter.

Happy freedom from the country we now control day!

I have a certain amount of animosity towards you for being a smug bitch with more rogue pixels than me, but I want to thank you for this. Mailman leading into the title track moves me particularly - reminds me so much of a healing period after being dumped by my first internet love, Columbia of NannyMUD.

Mina, If you're out there ... I forgive you. I was an idiot kid then, and I'm much better off now anyway.

Plenty, its loosely estimated we controlled 1/3 of the globe at one point at some level.

Our demise was actually America itself. After the Second World War we owed you guys so much in debts it didn't get fully paid off til 2009(ish). In the meantime, the austerity meant having to release control of places like India (colonialism was never profitable), but India had its own problems... the muslims wanted to live separately so they decided to partition, create Pakistan and fight over Kashmir from then until now (and the end of time).

We extracted a good amount of wealth from our time there. That shit still goes on with western countries, or corporations more accurately... exploiting places with precious gems, oil (Sudan partitioning etc).

Think how prosperous the Middle East and Africa could be if the west wasn't keeping it so unstable? The British government still has a hand in that :/

Apologies for the trash talk in Server Chat... I'd had a few. I also later realized that Cecily's link was just for the one song - Youtube carried right into the full album and 4th of July made more sense when I heard it a second time in its proper place at track 13.

Anyway, thanks again for the link - made my night. Going to have to spelunk for that disc and bring it back into the fold.
