@ OP, shaman and chanter are both great starting classes. They can generate a ton of cash to twink and can farm loot for other classes you really want to play.

Clerics are poor and there are a lot of greedy peeps on this server.

@ Nirgy, is that f5 key illegible from furiously mashing it yet?

I too have been thinking a ton about officially joining red, but have questions.

My first problem is that I can never stick to a character. I always bounce around because I love several classes for different reasons. There has been a ton of talk on these forums about why to be a certain class/race, but I have not read much on how this applies to PvP. I honestly don't understand how PVP typically happens on this server and how certain classes would do better than others. Is it typically 1v1? small duos or groups going around fighting others?

Classes that interest me: Shaman, Enchanter, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Monk (kinda)

I know the benefits of all, just not in regards to PvP and how red works.

So yeah, take the advice of a guy who has never leveled a cleric to 60.

Or..

You can take my advice, I leveled a cleric to 60 and another to 50. I also play a 60 shaman.

Roll an enchanter or shaman you won't be disappointed.

Shaman / chanter or even Druid are great starter class. Cleric is doable but you will have to kneel in a video game to people who use aol instant messanger. Good luck brah!!!

Shaman - Really good in groups. Best support class. You might have a hard time killing people 1 v 1 since people cure your poison/disease with pots but others should also have a hard time killing you.

Enchanter - You will probably die the most on this character. Very squishy. Very valuable in group pvp with rapture, drains, debuffs, dispel.

Bard - King of outdoor PvP. Every group likes to have a bard in it.

Druid - I don't know how well these scale in Velious. Might want to ask others. It doesn't seem like it would be great in Velious to me. Great when leveling up until end game right now.

Monk - People say Melee is overpowered on this server compared to classic. Monk might be the most overpowered and in Velious they pull further from the pack. Great in dungeons with FD, good survivability and great dps. Hard to beat.

Shaman - you will want to kill yourself buffing people and mashing canni

Enchanter - depends on skill

Druid - cleric is an option you are aware of this, yes?

Monk - if you can't stick/joust in pvp, don't play a melee imo

I would say best on here:

Enchanter: though you usually won't get the YT you are super strong in changing how a PvP fight is going. You can farm loot if you are really new.

Wizard: easy mode and no buffing lots of YT if thats your thing.

Monk: OP and will become more OP in Velious. A few items are required for anyone to take you seriously though (fungi, t-staff)

And everyone wants people to actually play clerics.
