if you have to pick and choose i would make your priorities the following:
1. weapon setup. ideally, if you can afford or obtain it, go with epic and EoN. There are alternatives for secondary that are much cheaper, for close to same damage output. 1.5 (optional) Haste. if you aren't using epic you will need a haste item (i.e. fbss for lvl 1). 2. strength. strength is dps. it is your most critical stat. depending on your race you will need more or less gear. shaman buffs and other str buffs (mrylokar arms are good for 45 plus) will help you get to the cap. there are a handful of relatively cheap items that will get most chars with buffs easily to cap. nome rogues might struggle a little. for the most part, straight strength items are generally cheap. if you are grouping this is really it. in grp setting all that matters is your dps. if you sacrifice dos for anything in 99% grp setups (sometimes i will unequip EoN for a locust lure, for example) then you are failing as a rogue. if you want to solo then you want to explore other needs like hp gear, trick weapons (snare, slow, stuns, etc.), regen (i.e. fungi). rogue gear is about as exciting as rogue class. it can be fun, but don't expect a great deal of complexity. if you want complexity to min/max then rogue is not the best class. there ARE in fact some things you can do to push your dos (weapon swapping, etc.) but compared to every other class I find rogue to be the simplest in terms of play and gear. lots of fun (dos is fun!) but not rocket science. | ||

At low levels especially (sub 35ish), you'll sometimes tank just as well or better than the tank in your group if they're untwinked. This is a good opportunity to get your defensive skills up as long as you aren't causing the healer to have an aneurism (some will realize you're not less efficient to heal and let it be, some will flip out regardless).
