regardless of no drop tags or not, it would shit on any new players starting up with hardly anything versus the people who already have good gear and tons of backup gear and platinum to replenish anything they might lose

Colgate is actually right. You can't just "test" something like this. It's all or nothing.

New players with nothing risk nothing in item loot system. Those players with replenishing gear might end up replenishing other peoples stashes. Gear disparity evaporates when you know an enemy can kill you and those fungis, RBB's, Underfoot robes, diamond rings, start going into bags. Once you bag your resist gear then you start getting wrecked by spells to a much higher degree and you can no longer just zoneplug as roots start landing after debuffs.

Additionally even if you are Empire rich and have scrooge mcduck's vault of platinum leftover from Nihilum exploit days, nobody wants to lose a big ticket item like a CoF/Fungi/RBB to a rival guild.

This kind of loot system could actually be devastating to a guild like Empire and would definitely empower the non raider pvp crowd if no drop was removed and item loot added. Raiding for pixels is alot less lucrative when you cant use them to grief people with less gear and instead have to bag them or risk losing them. So it is understandable why you would be against this system. The idea of all that velious raid loot being lootable from pvp would probably be enough to make half of your members rage quit the server back to blue.

enabling item loot on an existing server is an incredibly bad idea, and i say this as someone who would be in one of the best positions to benefit from item loot

i have over 20 kdr and die once every few months

why exactly would this hurt someone like me other than having fewer targets to kill because it just encourages hardly anyone to actually pvp

as a melee, i just wouldn't pvp unless surrounded by friends

adding item loot to a server like this is probably the best way to kill it

if i stood to lose items as a melee i would rampantly plug, zoneline dance or do anything to avoid pvp unless it was 15v1

i would also main a naked caster and bind rush all day long

sounds really fun actually
